Pathbrite (formerly rrrripple) Raises $2.5 million Series A Round

Pathbrite (formerly rrripple) has raised $2.5 million in a Series A round led by Rethink Education with angel investors Ben Cohen of Ben and Jerry’s, Serious Change’s Joshua Mailman and Steve Schoettler, co-founder of Zynga.  To date, the San Francisco company has raised $4 million and will use the latest infusion to increase product development and user acquisition.

Pathbrite addresses the age old problem of the resume not telling the entire story, especially for newly minted graduates with short career histories.    With Pathbrite, students can “collect, chronicle and showcase a lifetime of learning and personal achievements, enabling students to differentiate themselves and to stand out from the crowd.”

While Pathbrite currently targets high school and college students, they look to reach across all age groups as learning is a life-long event.  Labeled “Credentials 2.0″, on Pathbrite, certified documents such as report cards, transcripts, earned credentials can reside side-by-side with other digital artifacts providing hiring managers or evaluators a more comprehensive picture of the student’s personality and achievements.

College admissions offices are looking to use Pathbrite as an option to resumes and the company plans to provide an enterprise solution with added security levels later in the year.
