News Corp Announces “Amplify” Mobile Technology to Disrupt Education (VIDEO)

Joel Klein, former New York City Schools Chancellor hired by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp.  as CEO of Amplify, News Corp’s k-12 education division.   The division will team up with AT&T to deliver digital learning products through 4G tablets for schools.  The goal is to change the way educators think about delivering education in the k-12 sector.

Klein will be presenting at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, September 8-12 revealing more information about News Corp’s plans.

As reported in TechCrunch, details are light “we did find one video in the Amplify website that gives a hint at what the vision is: a tablet that gives students a fully-customized learning experience, from the moment they arrive in class, complete with a proprietary developed curriculum that has a heavy emphasis on interactive and visual learning (check it out below):”
