This 14-year-old is building connections for his startup

Fourteen-year-old Emerson Walker was sitting in class at Turpin High School when he realized he had forgotten his planner and couldn’t write down his assignments.

“I had an iPad at the time, so I thought, ‘Why isn’t there an app for this?’” he told me.

So he did what any good son of a partner at a venture firm would do — he decided to develop it himself (with some light encouragement from dad).
